Malcolm started playing piano in 2nd grade and quickly dropped it, he came back to music at age 10 and chose the trumpet. He hasn't put it down since! From elementary school playing in the school band and church, to high school joining the concert and jazz band, and on to college joining the "Showtime Marching Band" at Howard University, music has been a BIG part of Malcolm's life for a really long time. 

As a trumpet player he was a founding member and former part of touring bands SOL Development and CrushFunk Brass Band. After moving cross country from Washington, DC to Oakland, Ca he joined MJ’s Brass Boppers, Citizen5, numerous other ensembles. He currently heads up his jazz ensemble called the MAStet. He’s shared the stage with legends of many genres including Jay-Z, Solange, Terrace Martin, Benny Golson, Fred Wesley, Tye Tribbett, Kim Burrell, Richard Smallwood, and the Clark Sisters among others. While music has been his key to travel the many countries around the globe; he finds even greater joy in helping people reach their goals. He is gifted in educating and inspiring youth towards the greatness in themselves that sometimes even they can't see.

In 2010 Malcolm graduated from Howard University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Music.

In 2020 he graduated from the Simon Business School at University of Rochester in New York with a Master's of Business Administration degree in Finance, Organizational Strategy, and Entrepreneurship.
